* Vote straight Democrat no matter what. It doesn't matter if your rep or senator is a douchebag; what matters is majorities.
* support gay marriage.
* support safe and legal abortion. Give money to Planned Parenthood or the local clinic of your choice -- I like Cedar River Clinics in Renton and Yakima.
* stop the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq (and Libya).
* repeal the Bush tax cuts, and increase taxation on the richest Americans to at least Clintonian levels. This will solve the deficit problem.
* Full single-payer national health -- basically, extend Medicare to everybody.
* restore the estate tax to its former level.
* stop using Halliburton and KBR overseas to exploit thousands of third-country nationals in slave-like conditions without any oversight, on the taxpayer's dime.
* institute a cap-and-trade system NOW, and take other serious action on global warming NOW. Mandate a fleet average of 40 MPG for all carmakers selling in the USA.
